Football Association FIFA announces its own streaming service, where sports enthusiasts can watch matches and archive material. The service is called FIFA+ and is free to view. The organization wants to stream tens of thousands of matches via the service next year.

The International Football Association announces the streaming service in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup later this year. According to FIFA, there are still more than 40,000 football matches to watch via FIFA+ this year. It would concern approximately 29,000 matches of men’s football and 11,000 matches of women’s football.

In addition to live matches, FIFA will also make archive material available through its streaming service. According to the football association, fans can watch complete matches from the past and highlights of matches. The archive contains footage dating back to 1950.

Finally, FIFA wants to release its own docuseries and films through its streaming service. For example, about famous football players such as Ronaldinho or about specific clubs. FIFA follows the idea of ​​Netflix and calls these productions FIFA+ Originals.

FIFA+ is available to watch through the browser. In addition, the football association also has a FIFA+ app for Android and iOS. The service is currently available in English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish. FIFA is working on another six languages ​​to be available in June, but does not specify which languages ​​these are.
