Flitsmeister adds CarPlay support
A new version of Flitsmeister for iOS has been released that adds CarPlay support. This means that the image of the app can now also be displayed on screens in cars with CarPlay.
CarPlay support was already available in a beta of Flitsmeister, but now the functionality is finally available to all users via version 9.0 of the iOS application. CarPlay allows users to control iPhone functions via voice commands or in-car buttons.
Currently, in addition to navigation, users are shown warnings from Flitsmeister via CarPlay, such as warnings for a speed camera or an approaching ambulance. It is not yet possible to report speed cameras via CarPlay, but Flitsmeister says it still wants to add that functionality.
According to Flitsmeister, it took a long time before Apple gave permission to run the app on CarPlay. The developers believe this is because the app has a “huge amount of users” and that’s why Apple has been critical.
