Flickr refreshes interface with photo timeline
Flickr is developing a new interface for browsing photos. The photo service is working on Camera Roll, which should make photos easier to sort and manage. The new features are not yet available to everyone.
The Petapixel website was the first to announce the arrival of Camera Roll, the new way Flickr wants users to organize their photos. On the site itself, owner Yahoo states that Camera Roll is still in beta and that not all users have been given access yet.
Camera Roll should make it easier to sort photos. For example, uploaded images are automatically sorted by time and displayed on a timeline, which should make it easier to select photos from a specific date. It should also be easier to manage photos. Several photos can be selected at the same time and their properties can be adjusted, for example the privacy settings.
The new interface is similar to the camera interface used on many smartphones, for example. Flickr promises that it will add new features to Camera Roll in due course. When the beta period will be over is still unknown.
