Fitness watch Acer includes round screen and MediaTek soc
Acer added a new wearable to its lineup at an event in New York where the company announced many new products. The Leap Wear is a fitness watch with a round screen that has a MediaTek soc and biosensing chip.
The Leap Wear is a 42mm, or 1.6″ watch that features Corning Gorilla Glass SR+ to reduce the risk of damage. The case is made of stainless steel. The soc is the MT2523 from MediaTek and next to it is an MT2511- chip present, which would ensure, among other things, more reliable processing via sensors of, among other things, heart rhythm signals.
In addition to heart rate, the wearable can record data on endurance, stress and fatigue levels, and UV exposure. In conjunction with the Liquid Life app, users can set goals and collect virtual coins.
According to Acer, the battery life is a minimum of three to a maximum of five days. The wearable is protected against water according to the ipx7 class, which states that the device must continue to function up to 1 meter depth for half an hour. The fitness watch is compatible with Android 5.0 and iOS 8 and later versions. Acer will release the Leap Wear in the Benelux in August for an unknown price.
