Fitness VR headset from HTC is a concept and not going into production
The HTC Vive Air headset, which can be seen on the website of the iF Design Awards, is a concept that will not go into production, according to the manufacturer. The site features renders and descriptions of a lightweight standalone headset intended for fitness.
The Vive Air is “optimized for extended, high-intensity use,” reads the iF World Design website. The product has received a design award and according to the site the headset will be released in 2021, but HTC tells UploadVR that it is a concept that will not go into production.
HTC hinted earlier this month about the arrival of a new VR headset on its own blog. In the statement about the concept, the manufacturer refers to the upcoming Vivecon event, which will take place on May 11 and 12. HTC may show a new product there that actually comes out.
