Fitbit will pull out of Fitbit Connect app for Windows and Mac on October 13

Fitbit will discontinue the Fitbit Connect app for Windows and macOS on October 13. As a result, users of Versa, Versa 2 and Ionic models will no longer be able to copy music to their smartwatch via their computer. Fitbit refers to apps from Deezer and Pandora for this.

9to5Google discovered a change on one of Fitbit’s support pages. It states that the Fitbit Connect app for Windows and macOS will be deactivated on October 13. This makes it no longer possible to place audio files on the above-mentioned smartwatches via the Fitbit Connect app. Music files that are still on the smartwatch’s internal memory after this date will remain available.

Users who want to place audio files on their smartwatch after October 13, according to Fitbit, can do this via the apps of streaming services Deezer and Pandora. The latter only has an app available in the United States. A subscription is also required to use the services of Deezer and Pandora.

Fitbit supplied its Versa, Versa 2 and Ionic smartwatches with a built-in music app. Thanks to this app, it was possible to place audio files on the smartwatch via the Fitbit Connect app. Since the 2020 Versa 3 and Sense model, Fitbit no longer provides a built-in music app and the company refers to apps from streaming services to play music.
