Photos and specifications have appeared of the Fitbit Charge 3. This shows that the third generation of the fitness tracker will be waterproof and will have a full touchscreen. Just like with the current models, GPS is not available.

According to the specifications, the new fitness tracker is waterproof to a depth of fifty meters. Again, there would be no built-in GPS, meaning users would have to bring a smartphone to record their route and speed when they exercise.

The information and images of the Fitbit Charge 3 have been put online by Android Authority. According to the website, the new model has a full touchscreen. In the previous versions, you can press the display to switch interfaces, but there is no full touch functionality.

Thanks to the touchscreen, the Fitbit Charge 3 would also get functions that are now only available with the Fitbit Ionic and Versa smartwatches. It is probably about Quick Reply, for responding to incoming messages or calls. That would only work with paired Android devices. The sports watch has interchangeable straps and the battery is said to last up to seven days.

Furthermore, Android Authority thinks that there will be a Special Edition with NFC, so that Fitbit Pay can be used. This payment method is not supported by banks in the Benelux. It is not yet known when Fitbit will announce the Charge 3 itself. The Charge 2 was announced at the end of August two years ago.
