First test version of Windows 10 with Copilot is released, requires horizontal taskbar
Microsoft has released the first test version of its AI assistant Copilot for Windows 10. The trial version requires users to have the taskbar at the top or bottom of the screen. Users with vertical taskbars cannot use Copilot.
This concerns Windows 10 build 19045.3757, reports Microsoft. Copilot is only available in the Home and Pro versions of Windows 10 22H2. Enterprise versions do not yet receive the AI assistant. That support will come at a later stage.
Copilot under Windows 10 looks the same as under Windows 11 and appears in a bar on the right side of the screen. It does not block apps and desktop content, the company says. The assistant is not yet ready for a stable release and therefore still has bugs. Moreover, there are restrictions besides users needing to have the taskbar at the top or bottom. For example, it does not work in multi-monitor setups and Microsoft warns that the Edge browser can crash due to Copilot. Until now, Copilot was only available in Windows 11.
