First PlayStation 4 jailbreak games have been released
After hackers managed to jailbreak the PlayStation 4 with firmware version 4.05 at the end of last year, the first PlayStation 2 games have now appeared that run on this version of the PlayStation 4. Several PS4 games are also reportedly available to work.
It’s about the games clonoa 2 and Shinobic, which originally came out for the PlayStation 2. These games run on the PlayStation 4 with the 4.05 firmware, reports Wccftech. This is done through the PlayStation 3 emulator that is included in the console’s firmware.
According to the website, PlayStation 4 games such as Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Grand Theft Auto V, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, World of Final Fantasy, and Dying Light are also available to upload and play.
At the end of December, hackers discovered a kernel exploit for firmware version 4.05 of the PlayStation 4. However, the number of PlayStation 4s that can run the exploit is limited, because the vulnerability in firmware version 4.06, which was already released in November 2016.
Since this exploit became available, support for Linux has been added, among other things, and full root access can be obtained via ftp. The latter can also be done via PS4HEN, a homemade application that has been published on Github.
