Niantic will begin adding Pokémon from the Unova region to Pokémon Go Monday night. The fifth generation Pokémon contains a total of 156 different creatures, a small part of which will be released on Monday.

Niantic explains in a blog post which new Pokémon will be released on Monday. At least eight new Pokémon are appearing in the wild, there are a number of new Pokémon that can be hatched via eggs and three can be caught in raids. There are also five new regional Pokémon, which can only be caught in certain continents.

The fifth generation Pokémon come from the Unova region, the area where the Pokémon Black and White games are set. Niantic has put a promo video on Instagram in which the copies that will be released on Monday are highlighted. The new creatures can probably be caught in the game on Monday evening from 22:00. That’s the time Niantic usually uses to start new events.

Pokémon Go came out over three years ago. Although the game is not played as much as in the early days, the smartphone game is still popular. According to analysts at SensorTower, Niantic had sales of $110 million in August with the game; the best financial result in three years. This increase is likely due to the availability of the shiny form of the popular Pokémon Rayquaza in raids throughout August. This week, Niantic is releasing the shiny form of Mewtwo in raids.
