Download Firmware Ubiquiti AmpliFi 2.6.1
Ubiquiti has released new firmware for its routers from the AmpliFi High Density WiFi System with 2.6.1 as the version number. It is a WiFi system that works with one router and possibly one or more satellites with which it forms a mesh WiFi system. The system is aimed at an easy installation of a complete Wi-Fi network at home, without the need for in-depth network knowledge. The router is equipped with a small touchscreen and can be set in detail via a app on iOS and Android. The announcement of this release looks like this:
Hi all,
We’ve released 2.6.1 this morning. It addresses the issues in 2.6.0 which lead us to cancel the update. In addition to the fixes, we’ve disabled 802.11r until version 2.6.2, as we wanted to add warnings about compatibility with certain devices. The reason we didn’t just wait for 2.6.2 is that this update is also required for standalone Teleport, which started shipping late last week.
Here are the release notes:
v2.6.1
- Resolved stability issue with some third-party routers
- Added ability to pair standalone Teleport using AmpliFi Router’s LCD
- Temporarily removed 802.11r (available in beta)
v2.6.0
- Full gigabit speeds for wired connections (enable Hardware NAT option in mobile app)
- Wi-Fi client compatibility improvements
- AmpliFi mesh stability improvements
- Improved Wi-Fi client roaming between MeshPoints
- Added AmpliFi Teleport support
- Added option to bypass DNS cache (enable in web UI)
- Added fast roaming (enable 802.11 r/k/v options in web UI)
- Fixed issues with GRE-based VPN connection over AmpliFi network
- Guest network improvements
Known issue: Apple Watch Series 3 loses Wi-Fi connection when 802.11r option is enabled
