Download Firmware Sony PlayStation Portable 3.01

A few days ago, Sony released new firmware version 3.01 for the US and Japanese versions of the PlayStation Portable. Recently, this firmware has also been made available for the European PSP. The new firmware can be downloaded by clicking on this link downloaded and applied to the handheld via the PC, the (local) network or a umd disc. You can read what has changed in the 3.01 firmware of the PlayStation Portable at the bottom of this mess post. One of the notable new features added is the ability to play PlayStation 1 games on the handheld via the option RemotePlay on the PlayStation 3:

Game

• PLAYSTATION®Network titles are now supported. PLAYSTATION®Network titles* can now be downloaded via the PLAYSTATION®3 system.
  * The term “PLAYSTATION®Network titles” refers to PlayStation format software (PS one games) downloaded from PLAYSTATION®Store and PSP format games distributed electronically. Note that when playing on a PSP® system, system software version 3.01 or later is required.

Network

• [Remote Play] has been added as a feature.
• [Online Instruction Manuals] has been added as a feature.
• [Set Timer] has been added as a feature under [RSS Channel].

Music

• [Visual Player] has been added as a feature.
• Three-speed fast forward and fast reverse has been added as a feature under [Music].

photo

• [Camera] has been added as a feature.

Settings

• [UMD™ Auto-Start] has been added as a feature under [System Settings].
