Download Firmware Sony PlayStation 3 3.70

Sony has released new firmware for the PlayStation 3. The firmware has been given jersey number 3.70 and is 185MB in size. You can download it from the menu of the console itself or from the Sony website. New in this release is the addition of television channels to the XrossMediaBar menu. In addition, improvements to 3D content playback have been made and 3D photos can now be added to the photo gallery.

Key Features in System Software Version 3.70

• TV/Video Services has been added as a category to the XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) menu
  You can use video streaming services via TV/video services in the XMB menu. Some services require you to download and install an application.
  Remark:
  • Which icons are displayed depends on the country or region of use and the available services.
  • The icon of some video streaming services may appear in the TV/Video Services category, instead of under Video.
  • The TV/Video Services category will not appear in the XMB menu if none of the services in this category are used.
  • To update the information of the displayed services, your PS3 system must be connected to the Internet.
• Automatically upload saved data
  You can sync new and recently updated saved data from PlayStation 3 format software to Online Storage automatically and regularly. This feature can only be used by PlayStation Plus members.

Photo

• Files in MPO (Multi-Picture, used for 3D and multi-angle photos) format can now be found under Photo and in the [Photo Gallery] are being displayed.

PlayStation Network

• A feature has been added that allows you to share information about products in the PlayStation Store with your friends. Select [Aanbevelen] on a product’s details page to send a message and promote the product to your friends.

Video

• Support is now provided for playback of 3D content* in Blu-ray Java™ (BD-J) format. You can now enjoy BD-J content recorded on Blu-ray 3D™ Discs.
• Support is now provided for DTS-HD audio output when playing Blu-ray 3D™ content*.
  * To view 3D content, you need a stereoscopic 3D capable TV that complies with the 3D standard and a High Speed ​​HDMI cable. Some content may not play in 3D or at all.

Settings

• It is now possible to automatically synchronize trophy data with the server on a regular basis. This feature can only be used by PlayStation Plus members.
