Download Firmware Sony PlayStation 3 3.30

Sony has released new firmware for the PlayStation 3 with version number 3.30. New in this firmware is the ability to control the PlayStation from the soon-to-be-released Vaio models. Furthermore, new sound options for Blu-ray playback have been added and there is support for stereoscopic 3D games. Finally, trophies can now be sorted and the names of trophies not yet achieved are shown. The release notes look like this:

Institutions

• You can under [Remote-Play-instellingen] > [Apparaat registreren] now [PC] select as an option. If you select this option, you can use the Remote Play feature to control your PS3 system from new models of VAIOs. Details about this feature will be posted on the official VAIO website in May 2010. vaio.eu/playstation announced.
• [Bitstream (Direct)] and [Bitstream (Mix)] are under [Video-instellingen] > [BD audio-uitvoerformaat (optisch digitaal)] added as options.
• 3D stereoscopic games are now supported. There are no 3D stereoscopic games available for the PlayStation 3 system at the time of system software release. The release date for stereoscopic games in 3D will be announced later. If the TV in use supports 3D stereoscopic display, if you change the video output settings, a screen will appear where you can set the TV format. Follow the instructions on the screen to adjust the settings.

• You can now sort your trophies by game or by date achieved.
• Names of trophies you have not yet earned will now be as [Verborgen trofeeën] instead of if [???] displayed.

Remark:

• This system software update includes all the features of the previous versions.
• The new system software will save all settings previously entered in the PlayStation 3 system.
• Depending on the software title, you may not be able to play the content until you install the new PS3 system software.
• Do not update with data other than the official update data provided by Sony Computer Entertainment over a network or on a disc. Do not update in any way other than as described in the product documentation or on this website. If an update is performed with data from another source, by any other means, or with a PS3 system that has been altered or edited in any way, the PS3 system may not function properly and the official update data may not be able to be installed. These actions may void the warranty of the PS3 system and affect your ability to use Sony Computer Entertainment’s warranty and repair services.
