Download Firmware Sony Playstation 3 2.52

Sony has again given the green light to its development department to release a firmware upgrade for the Playstation 3, this time with 2.52 as the version number. No real shocking improvements can be found, as usual the playback quality of certain software is improved, a problem with text entry is solved and video content recorded at 59.94Hz is displayed correctly again. The present announcement looks like this:

As of November 5, 2008, an update to the PS3 system software is available. If you install it on your PS3 system, you will have version 2.52 of the system software and the following features have been updated. To download version 2.52 of the PS3 system software, you need a minimum of 140 MB of free space on your PS3’s Hard Drive (System Update) or on a removable storage media (PC Update).

The main features in version 2.52 of the system software:

• The playback quality of some software in PLAYSTATION 3 format has been improved.
• An issue with entering text using the on-screen keyboard, a USB keyboard, or a Bluetooth® keyboard has been resolved.
• Fixed an issue where video content recorded at 59.94 Hz was not displayed correctly on some TV sets.
