Syabas Technology has released a beta release of a new firmware for the Popcorn Hour C-200. This so-called Networked Media Tank can play audio and video from the optional hard disk. But the device can also be used without a hard disk, because content will then be streamed from a NAS system or a computer. Updating the firmware can be done by extracting the zip file to the root of a USB memory stick and then browsing to the file ‘usbupdate.html’ from the menu. There is no need to update the nmt apps. Below is what has changed in this release:

BD/AVCHD/DVD/CDDA

• Fixed certain BD disc cannot jump to Top menu (Spears & Munsil test disc)
• Fixed TV signal reinit during start and stop DVD/BD playback
• Disabled TIME SEEK for DVD playback when repeat mode is set to REPEAT CHAPTER and REPEAT TITLE
• Fixed incorrect browser OSD resolution after playing BDJ titles
• Fixed AVCHD cannot play through USB loader
• Fixed BDJ slow cannot rollback to 1/2x. (Note: BDJ only support slow speed at 1/2x and 1/4x)
