Download Firmware Philips 5/6/7/8/9000 series (Q55xx) 0.140.37.0

Philips has released new firmware for several of its 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000 and 9000 series LCD TVs on its website and assigned them version number 0.140.37.0. It should be noted that these are 2010 models, which are codenamed Q55xx. The list of changes in this release is as follows:

Q5551_0.140.37.0:

• The message “Video format not supported” is displayed with HDMI video format 1080i on some set-top box models.
• A split screen with green horizontal lines is displayed with HDMI video format 720 on select set-top box models.
• No picture or black screen on some digital cable channels (DVB-C). (Only applicable in Finland)
• The TV automatically switches back to the primary audio language when watching digital channels. (Only applicable in Spain)
• Certain Russian alphabets cannot be selected using the on-screen keyboard in the Net TV portal. (Only applicable to Net TV models)

Q5551_0.140.36.0:

• The device icon name cannot be changed due to missing characters when Portuguese is selected as the menu language.
• Teletext does not work when using a SCART connection.
• By default, when you open the Electronic Program Guide (EPG), the first channel in the list is displayed instead of the channel you are currently watching.
• The TV has no sound and the message “No video signal” is occasionally displayed when viewing satellite channels via certain set-top box models. (Only applicable to K models)
• The TV will stop automatically after you watch a movie rented from Net TV for 2 hours. (Only applicable to Net TV models)
• The screen has a green or pink haze in Net TV. (Only applicable to Net TV models)
• The TV channel is displayed in a small window at the top right of the screen after you activate the [Browse Net TV] (Open Net TV). (Only applicable to Net TV models)
• Picture and sound occasionally drop out when viewing a video file from the Net TV portal. (Only applicable to Net TV models and in Germany)
