Download Firmware OCZ Vertex 3, Vertex 3 Max IOPS, Agility 3, Solid 3, RevoDrive 3 2.25

OCZ Technology released new firmware last week for the Vertex 3, Vertex 3 Max IOPS, Agility 3 and Solid 3 series solid state drives. Officially, updating the firmware is only possible if the drive is not the Windows system disk, but there is an OCZ form little tool available where it is possible. While the download page still lists firmware version 2.22, the toolbox does contain version 2.25. The changelog reports the following changes and improvements:

Issues resolved since version 2.22:

• Fixed the normalized value calculation for SMART Attribute 9 (Power-On Hours)
• Fixed a SATA error recovery sequence coming out of PS1
• Fixed an issue during SMART self-test extended that could cause an unexpected read error

Known open issues:

• Formatting a RAID-1 Volume takes longer than expected with PMC Sierra BR-8 HBA
• Platforms with H61 based chipset fail to wake from sleep, fail to negotiate at 6Gb speeds, and dropped links occasionally when using with 3.0Gb SATA drives
