Spread the love

The D80 introduced last year has received a firmware update from Nikon to version 1.01. The update can be flashed to the digital camera via Windows and Mac OS. In version 1.01, a number of bugs have been fixed that have also been eliminated in the new firmware of the D40. In addition, bug fixes have been made specifically for the D80. The full changelog looks like this:

The following improvements are made with firmware version 1.01:

  • The electronic analog exposure indicator in the viewfinder shows if the brightness of the subject is outside the range of the exposure control. This occurs when the built-in flash is raised in Programmed auto (P), Shutter-priority auto (S), or Aperture-priority auto (A) exposure mode.
  • The effect of edits performed when the Noise reduction option in the shooting menu is enabled has been improved.
  • Trying to edit pictures that had already been edited on a computer using the options in the D80’s retouch menu sometimes caused the camera to freeze. Therefore, pictures edited with a computer can no longer be edited with the camera.
  • Errors in the English, Polish and Swedish menus have been corrected.
