Nikon has for its Coolpix P7000 digital compact cameras released new firmware, version number 1.1. These cameras have a 1/1.7″ rbg-ccd image sensor with 10.1 megapixels on board and have a built-in lens with a range of 28-200mm, bringing the optical zoom to 7.1x. changes for this update look like this:

Version 1.1 includes the following improvements:

• The total storage time for NRW (RAW) files has been reduced. This also applies to the storage time for NRW+JPEG file save options.
• Lens control has been optimized so that the message ‘Initialize lens. Can’t focus.’ appears less often.
• The issue that caused the zoom to not work in very rare cases has been resolved.
• An issue that caused the monitor to lose detail in the highlights (bitten highlights) when the shutter-release button was pressed halfway while Active D-Lighting was enabled has been resolved.
