Nikon has for its Coolpix P100 digital superzoom compact cameras released new firmware, with version number 1.2. These cameras have a 1/2.3″ cmos image sensor with 10.3 megapixels on board and have a built-in lens with a range of 26-678mm, bringing the optical zoom to 26x. The list of changes for this update looks like this:

This download updates the COOLPIX P100 firmware to version 1.2. Check the firmware version of the camera by following the instructions below. If the above firmware version is already installed on the camera, there is no need to perform a firmware update. Changes in this version

If the monitor was turned on by pressing the main switch or the shutter-release button, or by rotating the mode dial, after the camera was entered into standby by the auto-off function, with the welcome screen set to an option other than None ( default setting), the monitor screen was completely black and only information was displayed. In addition, in this monitor display, when the shutter-release button was pressed halfway, the image was displayed through the viewfinder, and the image was very noisy. This problem has now been resolved.
