Netgear has released a new version of Raidiator, the software that runs on various NAS devices from that company. These are the models equipped with an ARM processor, namely the ReadyNAS Duo v2 and NV+ v2. Updating can be done by navigating to System > Update in the Dashboard or by installing the new image yourself first to download. This release contains the following changes and improvements:

New features and bug fixes

  • Updated support of Share Management protocols to include (CIFS, AFP, HTTP, FTP, NFS, Rsync).
  • Updated Services Management protocols to include (HTTPS, CIFS, AFP, NFS, FTP, ReadyDLNA, UPnP, SNMP).
  • Added support to Backup/Restore ReadyNAS system configurations.
  • Added support for “User” and “Domain” security mode.
  • Added support for Remote Rsync, Remote Windows server, and ReadyNAS Vault in the Backup Management tab.
  • Added full Disk SMART information.
  • Allow user to customize Disk Spin Down power management settings.
  • Added ability to host a public Web share over HTTP.
  • Fix an issue on slow networks where you may encounter a “disk full” error message during file copies.

Limitations

  • Enabling NTP server may not update immediately.
  • Cannot search media files stored on USB devices.
  • FTP masquerade name should be the same as the systems host name.
  • Cannot obtain Domain Name in Local Users mode if FQDN was not removed.
  • If a domain user has special chars in their account, “Refresh ADS Accounts” may fail.
  • Permissions on a share can only be changed at share level, not at directory level.
