Netgear has released new firmware for its Orbi Routers and Satellites with 2.1.2.18 as version number. Orbi is a WiFi system that works with one router and possibly one or more satellites that do not communicate with other satellites, so in that respect it is not a mesh WiFi system. The system is aimed at an easy installation of a complete Wi-Fi network at home, without the need for in-depth network knowledge. This firmware update is suitable for the RBS20, RBS40, RBS50 and SRS60 satellites and the RBR40, RBR50 and SRR60 routers which also come in different kit compositions. The corresponding list of changes looks like this:

• Shows the satellite backhaul status and backhaul connection quality on the Attached Devices page.
• Supports satellite renaming on the Attached Devices page.
