Download Firmware Linksys EA6500 1.1.29 build 162351
Cisco Systems has released new firmware for the EA6500, or the Smart Wi-Fi Router AC 1750 HD Video Pro, as they call it. This router has four gigabit connections and can send and receive wirelessly not only via the 802.11a, b, g and n standards, but also the new super-fast ac standard. With 802.11ac, a standard that is still under development, theoretical speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second can be achieved. The main improvements made in this release can be found below.
Highlights in 1.1.29 (Build 162351):
- Local login UI more closely matches cloud login UI. New product name is “Linksys Smart Wi-Fi”
- Added an option to Device List to allow clean up and rediscovery of all devices that user has not previously customized with a new name or icon.
- Internet Explorer 11 now supported for local login.
- Support for local UI login using Safari on iPads with iOS version 7 or 8.
- Improved device discovery to discover more device models and reduce likelihood of duplicate devices appearing.

- Default SSID changes when in factory reset state to LinksysXXXXX naming convention.
- Security turned on by default when FTP feature enabled.
