Download Firmware Leica S2 1.0.4.2
Leica has released firmware version 1.0.4.2 for its S2-camera. This camera has a Kodak CCD image sensor of 45 by 30 mm on board, with 37.5 megapixels, and can be equipped with interchangeable Leica-S lenses. The update is primarily intended to allow the camera to be used with the new Leica Super-Elmar-S 24mm f/3.5 ASPH and Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH lenses.
New: LEICA S2 firmware update FW 1.0.4.2
The firmware update primarily addresses the use of the new S-Lenses Leica Super-Elmar-S 24mm f/3.5 ASPH. and Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH., and ensures optimum lens functionality on Leica S2 and S2-P cameras. Both lenses were presented at photokina 2012. Furthermore, the installation of the new camera firmware is a precondition for the use of Leica S-Lenses with central shutters.
This latest update has also been employed for the implementation of various customer wishes. These include the optimization of the shutter priority exposure mode (T). Before this update, when the shutter speed was outside the exposure range, it was automatically adjusted to match the lighting conditions, even in T mode. The selected shutter speed now has priority. The communication of white balance values from the camera to Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® has also been improved.
Registered S customers can now download the files containing the firmware and an installation guide from the owners’ area at:
