Firmware update for Surface Pro 3 should fix Wi-Fi issues
Microsoft has rolled out a firmware update for the Surface Pro 3. Among other things, the update should fix problems that users are experiencing with the stability of Wi-Fi connections on Microsoft’s tablet. An issue with ‘overheating’ Surface Pro 3 tablets is also said to have been resolved.
The update for the wifi problems would be solved by, among other things, providing the uefi with new firmware. In addition, the so-called Surface integration drivers have also been adapted for both the WiFi and the Bluetooth component. These updates should provide more stable wireless connections on the Surface Pro 3, reports WinSupersite.
Microsoft also seems to have found a fix for complaints from some users who received system notifications that the tablet had become too hot. This is not a hardware problem, but a software error that causes the message about overheated components to be incorrectly displayed. This bug is believed to have been resolved by an update to the embedded controller firmware. An update to the system aggregator should also provide better compatibility with the Surface Cover. For the other Surface models, Microsoft has no updates available this month.
