Internally there is room for a 3.5″ hard drive and Wi-Fi is offered as an option. The new firmware allows, among other things, to customize the main menu navigation and control via a free Android and iPhone/iPad app. The complete changelog of this release looks like this:

New functions

  • The navigation in the main menu can be adjusted by the user. The user can choose between database navigation (as in the previous firmware v2.1.5) or simple file navigation. By default, database navigation is enabled. The user can change this via the database mode option. The database mode option can be reached via ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘Database mode’;
  • The AccuWeather app has been added to the main menu. The user can adjust AccuWeather himself, via ‘Apps’ > ‘AccuWeather’;
  • The user can choose between playing a DVD/AVCHD/BDISO/Folder and displaying the files. User can change this through BDMV Map Auto Play option. BDMV Map Auto Play can be accessed from ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘BDMV Map Auto Play’;
  • Third Party Apps have been added. See the attached ‘Third Party Apps’ manual for more information. A Third Party Apps account is required for proper operation of the Third Party Apps menu;
  • a free android remote control app is available here
  • a free iPhone or iPad remote control app is available here
  • The user can easily add files that are placed on the hard drive via network, NZBget or Transmission to the database. This is possible by pressing the green button on the remote control in the main menu. See also the first bullet point.

Improvements

  • File and folder sorting has been improved;
  • The AVCHD/BDISO/Folder compatibility has been improved;
  • AVCHD display issues have been resolved (BD Menu issue).

Technical adjustments

  • The internal HDD will now be mounted as /tmp/usbmounts/sda;
