Download Firmware Eminent EM7080 hdMEDIA RT / EM7180 hdMEDIA RT2 1.0.0.6
Last Thursday, Eminent released new stable firmware for the EM7080 hdMEDIA RT and EM7180 hdMEDIA RT2 media players. On the GoT, experiences and opinions about this device can be shared in this topic. To install the firmware, a button on the bottom of the player has to be pressed. This release includes some bug fixes, adds support for third-party apps, and provides the ability to prevent btpd and nzbd from starting up when not in use. The full release notes can be found below.

To install the firmware:
Note: The button at the bottom is present on the circuit board and can be reached by turning the media player over. The button is visible at the top left of the cooling grille.
Release notes:
- ** This version MUST be flashed using the button at the bottom, otherwise the player will not boot and will remain on Loading..**
- ** If it stays on loading, please flash again with the button on the bottom. **
- WMA Audio restored.
- Random reboot problem. Fixed player rebooting.
- The speed of the user interface has been improved, and about 10-25% faster than previous versions.
- Added third party apps. See attached PDF document for detailed information. A account is required for the proper functioning of the Third-party apps menu.
- Time zone corrected.
- BTPD and NZBD can be disabled via telnet so that they never boot. To do this, create the files no_btpd or no_nzbd in /usr/local/etc via telnet. (Eg #/touch /usr/local/etc/no_btpd.)
A number of unnecessary folders are no longer created in the root folder of the hard disk. (eg ThunderDB folders.)
