Download Firmware Apple iOS 5.1

Apple has released version 5.1 of iOS. Apple’s iOS is the operating system for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Updating the software is easy; if the device to be upgraded already has iOS 5, this can be done without using a computer. If you do want to perform the upgrade via a cable, then the Windows or Mac OS X system used must have at least version 10.6 of iTunes. Version 5.1 should, among other things, fix battery problems with the iPhone, has several improvements regarding the camera and the sound when playing video on the iPad has been improved.

This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:

• Japanese added to Siri (limited for now)
• Photos can now also be removed from the Photo Stream.
• Camera shortcut now always available in the locked screen (before you had to press the home button twice for this)
• Face recognition now indicates all recognized faces instead of 1.
• Camera app for iPad redesigned.
• Genius Mixes and Genius playlists for iTunes Match subscribers.
• Audio optimized for TV shows and movies on the iPad (louder and clearer)
• Podcast control for playback and addition of 30 seconds rewind on iPad (iPhone already had this)
• Fixed bugs related to battery life
• Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the sound in outgoing phone connections to drop out.
