Apple has released version 17.3 of iOS. In iOS 17, which is suitable for the iPhone Xs/Xr and later, it is possible to create a personal calling screen. The person you call will see this. There is also a standby mode, where the phone functions as a smart display when charging. AirDrop, the messaging app and autocorrect have also been improved. In this update, Apple has made it more difficult to access sensitive data if the device is stolen and added shared Apple Music playlists.

This update provides additional security measures with Stolen Device Protection. This update also includes a new Unity wallpaper celebrating Black history and culture in celebration of Black History Month, plus other features, bug fixes, and security updates for your iPhone.

Protection for stolen device

• Stolen Device Protection increases the security of iPhone and Apple ID by requiring Face ID or Touch ID for certain actions without having to rely on a passcode
• Security Delay requires the following before sensitive operations, such as changing the device passcode or Apple ID password, can be performed: Face ID or Touch ID, a one-hour wait, and then an additional successful biometric authentication

• New Unity wallpaper celebrating Black history and culture in celebration of Black History Month

Music

• You can now collaborate on playlists and invite friends to join your playlist so everyone can add, delete and reorder songs
• Emoji reactions can be added to songs in a collaborative playlist

This update also includes the following improvements:

• AirPlay hotel support lets you stream content directly to your room TV in select hotels
• AppleCare & Warranty in Settings shows coverage for all devices signed in with your Apple ID
• Accident detection optimization (all iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models)
