Apple has released version 17.2 of iOS. In iOS 17, which is suitable for the iPhone Xs/Xr and later, it is possible to create a personal calling screen. The person you call will see this. This update adds Diary, a brand new way to reflect on the events of your life and preserve your memories. This version also includes improvements to the Action button and Camera, plus other features, bug fixes, and security updates for your iPhone.

Diary

• Diary is a new app where you can write about the small moments and the big events in your life, so you can practice gratitude and improve your well-being
• Diary Suggestions make it easy to remember your experiences by intelligently grouping events, photos, workouts, and more into moments that you can add to your diary
• Filters let you quickly find bookmarked notes or view notes with attachments so you can revisit and reflect on important moments in your life
• Scheduled notifications make it easier to write in your diary on a regular basis by sending you reminders on the days and times you choose
• Option to lock your diary with Touch ID or Face ID
• With iCloud sync, your journal notes stay safe and encrypted in iCloud

Action button

• Translate option for the action button on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to quickly translate sentences or have a conversation with someone in another language

Camera

• Spatial Video lets you capture video on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max so you can relive your memories in three dimensions on Apple Vision Pro
• Improved telephoto lens focusing speed when capturing small, distant objects on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max

To inform

• By tapping an arrow in the top right corner you can now quickly jump to the first unread message in a conversation
• You can add a sticker directly to a speech bubble using the 'Add Sticker' option in the contextual menu
• Memoji updates with the ability to adjust Memoji body shape
• Contact key verification automatically displays alerts, and contact verification codes allow people at high risk of digital attacks to verify that they are exchanging messages with the right people

Weather

• Precipitation amounts help you stay informed about rain and snow conditions for a given day over the next ten days
• New widgets for next hour precipitation, daily forecast, sunrise and sunset times and current conditions such as air quality, wind chill and wind speed
• The wind map lets you quickly view wind patterns, and the animated wind map overlay helps you prepare for forecast wind conditions over the next 24 hours
• With the interactive lunar calendar you can easily visualize the phase of the moon for each day of the coming month

This update also includes the following improvements and bug fixes:

• AirDrop improvements, including expanded contact sharing options and the ability to share boarding passes, movie tickets, and other eligible cards by holding two iPhones together
• The Favorite Songs playlist in Music gives you quick and easy access to the songs you've marked as favorites
• Use Listening History in Music can be turned off in a focus so music you're listening to doesn't appear in Recently Played or affect recommended music
• A new digital clock widget lets you quickly check the time on your home screen or in standby mode
• The improved autofill feature recognizes fields in PDF files and other forms, allowing you to fill these fields with information such as names and addresses of your contacts
• New keyboard layouts supporting 8 Sami languages
• Sensitive content warning for stickers in Messages can help you avoid unexpectedly seeing a nudity sticker
• Support for Qi2 chargers for all iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models
• Fixed an issue that could prevent wireless charging in certain vehicles
