FireEye has sold the FireEye Products branch to investment company Symphony Technology Group. This Products department deals with, among other things, e-mail and network security software. The rest of FireEye renames to Mandiant Solutions.

The FireEye Products branch goes to Symphony. This airline also buys the FireEye name. The acquisition is worth 1.2 billion dollars, converted to 984.1 million euros. FireEye Products develops and sells network, email, endpoint and cloud security software. This business unit will continue to offer products under the FireEye name as a Symphony business unit.

In addition to the FireEye Products branch, the FireEye company also consisted of a Mandiant Solutions branch. It offers threat intelligence and cybersecurity expertise to companies. For example, this branch of the company helped Colonial Pipeline when it was hit by ransomware in mid-May. Mandiant Solutions will continue to exist and will not be acquired by Symphony. The parent company, formerly known as FireEye, will therefore go through life after sale as Mandiant Solutions.

The two parties expect the sale to be completed in the last quarter of this year. Even after the sale is completed, Mandiant and FireEye will continue to work closely together, sharing technology, telemetry, threat intelligence and expertise.
