‘Fintechbank’ Bunq has been suffering from DDOs attack for a day
Bunq has been under fire since Thursday evening from a large-scale DDoS attack, which makes the services of the bank less accessible. Attempts to repel the attack seemed successful a few times, but the attacks continue according to the bank.
The ddos attack started on Thursday evening around 9 pm, Bunq reports. The company acknowledged that some services were unavailable at times, but stated that everything is being done to counter the attack. In the night from Thursday to Friday, the attack seemed to have been repulsed, but on Friday the company announced that it was again experiencing several DDOs attacks.
According to the bank, the attacks changed at least 12 times, with the DDOs targeting different protocols, ports and IP addresses each time. The company states that it has ‘serious’ anti-DDOs equipment for filtering and diverting traffic, but that it is a ‘cat and mouse game’. The company stresses to customers that customer data and money have not been at risk. It is not known why the ddos’ers focus on Bunq.
