Square Enix has announced the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy for PC. The original part can be downloaded from October 9 via Steam, among other things. However, the expansions, XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, will not be released for PC until 2015.

Square Enix has reported this on its blog. The trilogy is already on the market for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. On October 9, the original part of Final Fantasy XIII will also be released for PC. Square Enix has not yet announced the exact release dates of XIII-2 and Lightning Returns. The company does report that the expansions will be released for PC sometime in the spring of 2015.

Square Enix does not say anything about changes or innovations made to the games. There will probably be ‘Steam Trading Cards’ included with all parts. Users of the download service can upgrade their level with those cards, giving them more options with the download service. More than two weeks before the release, the game can already be ordered via Steam. The game currently costs 9.89 pounds, which is about 12.50 euros. This includes a ten percent discount. Final Fantasy XIII will cost 10.99 pounds from October 9, which is about 14 euros. The system requirements have also been announced via Steam.
