Final Fantasy VIII Remaster Coming September 3rd
The Final Fantasy VIII remaster will be released on September 3rd for Windows, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch. The game supports higher resolutions, disabling Battle Encounters, Battle Assist and playing all scenes up to three times faster.
Additionally, the Steam version gets cheats. You can get almost all items and abilities, level everything in one fell swoop, get almost all Triple Triad cards and more. Why these features only come to the Windows version is not clear. Not only does the game support higher resolutions, but also widescreen, can be seen on the screenshots and in the trailer. The game already received achievements on its Steam release and still has them. This can be seen on the Xbox Store page.
On the occasion of the gamescom games fair in Cologne, Square Enix also released a trailer of the game that gives a good idea of the level to which the graphics have been lifted. The game will cost $19.99. At the same time, Square Enix is working on a large-scale remake of predecessor Final Fantasy VII; it will come in March of 2020.
