Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series will release in Spring 2023 for Switch and PS4
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games will be released in spring 2023 for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The games, which are remasters of Final Fantasy I through VI, had already been released in 2021 for PC, Android and iOS.
Developer Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series for the consoles on Monday. The company hasn’t announced a specific release date yet, but says the games will be available in spring 2023. The remasters can then be purchased individually or in a bundle via Nintendo eShop and the PlayStation Store.
A special physical edition will also be released in the same period. The ‘FF35th Anniversary Edition’ includes the physical bundle of the six remasters, a pixel art book of Final Fantasy characters, and two LPs with arrangements of the music from the games. The special edition is available through the Square Enix web store and costs 274.99 euros. The physical bundle of the six games is also available separately and costs 75 euros.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games have had their graphics and audio updated. The 2D characters and backgrounds have been redrawn, respecting the original creator’s designs. The soundtracks have also been co-arranged with the original composer and now use more than three tones.
