File refers to Snapdragon 820-soc and 1080p display in Nexus Sailfish
Smartphone shopper Evan Blass has put a build.prop file of the upcoming Nexus Sailfish online. It can be concluded from this that the smartphone will receive an MSM8996 chipset. Qualcomm uses that model number for the Snapdragon 820.
In the published build.prop file also shows a dpi setting of 420. According to previous rumors, the smallest variant of the new Nexus will have a 5.2″ screen, in combination with the pixel density this gives a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Although the authenticity of the file cannot be guaranteed, Evan Blass of Twitter account @evleaks known for leaking confidential smartphone information.
It is also possible that the upcoming Nexus smartphone will receive a Snapdragon 821 soc. Qualcomm announced this slightly faster version of the 820 earlier in July, but it is not yet known what type number that soc will receive. In the past, Qualcomm used the same designation for different socs. For example, both the Snapdragon 800 and 801 were designated as MSM8997.
The Nexus Sailfish from which the build.prop file has appeared is one of two new Google Nexus smartphones, which are believed to be made by HTC. Earlier, a render appeared that shows what the device will probably look like. The models are codenamed Sailfish and Marlin. The latter is a larger model, rumored to have a 5.5″ screen and a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.
