Fighting game MultiVersus reaches peak of 144,000 concurrent players on Steam
The open beta of the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus was released on Tuesday. The Steam version reached a peak of 144,456 concurrent players. The game has been available to a limited number of players on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles since July 19.
SteamDB shows that the peak was reached at 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning. According to the site, the fighting game had caught up with Apex Legends in terms of player count by midnight. The shooter then had more than 119,000 Simultaneous Players, while MultiVersus had 142,000 players. Alone Lost Ark (243.626), dota 2 (273 968) and Counter Strike: Global Offensive (397,460) had more players at that time.
MultiVersus is a game where players can pit different Warner Bros characters against each other. It is possible to play with characters from the Scooby Doo franchise, Adventure Time, Looney Tunes and Game Of Thrones, among others. At the time of writing, the game features 17 characters, 9 maps, and 8 game modes. It is not yet known when the game will be officially released.
