FIFA and EA to host eWorld Cup with FIFA 18
World football organization FIFA and EA are joining forces to organize a World Cup for FIFA 18 players. Several preliminary rounds will be held, followed by two major tournaments in January and April next year.
Both sides have announced that the preliminary rounds will start at the beginning of next month. FIFA and EA will both organize preliminary rounds, but it is also possible for third parties to organize competitions themselves in which players can qualify. Players can also qualify online by performing well in the FIFA Ultimate Team Weekend League or entering special tournaments within FUT Champions. Other preliminaries, mainly for professional teams, are held during live events.
Regular players can therefore participate in the FIFA Ultimate Team competitions, where the best players qualify for two major tournaments, which will be held in January and April of next year. A total of 128 players can participate; 64 gamers playing via Xbox One, and 64 gamers playing via PlayStation 4. The top 32 players will then eventually participate in the eWorld Cup and the eventual winner will be declared World Champion.
