Feedly and Evernote suffer from ddos attacks
Feedly and Evernote websites suffer from DDoS attacks. Evernote is now mostly up and running, with Feedly saying that criminals are trying to extort site administrators with the DDOs attacks.
Feedly reports on its weblog that unknown criminals only say they will stop the DDoS attacks if money is put on the table. Feedly, a popular RSS service, says it will not give in to the extortionists’ demands and is working with law enforcement agencies in an effort to track down the perpetrators. The company also states that user data and other data are safe, although the service remains difficult to access at the time of writing.
In addition to Feedly, the note-taking service Evernote, which has millions of users, has also suffered from DDOs attacks, which prevented synchronization of data. A large-scale attack would have been repulsed by now and the note-taking service is back reachable for users. It is not clear whether Evernote has also been extorted. Furthermore, over the past weekend, the streaming music service Deezer suffered from a DDOs attack that is said to have been carried out via a botnet. This made the service unusable for several hours.
