FCC image SNES controller for Switch indicates possible arrival of SNES games
Nintendo has filed documents with the FCC that likely indicate the arrival of an SNES controller for the Nintendo Switch. When Nintendo released an NES controller for the Switch, the arrival of NES games for the console followed.
The document shows the back of an SNES controller with its sticker. That sticker says ‘HAC’, which Eurogamer says indicates that it will be an accessory for the Nintendo Switch. Another document indicates that the controller is wireless. Other documents within the filing are currently mostly confidential and therefore not accessible.
Nintendo Switch Online subscribers have the opportunity to purchase a set of classic NES controllers directly from Nintendo. A subscription also includes access to 48 NES games on Switch, including online and local multiplayer, and a ‘rewind’ feature. All in all, it’s to be expected that the SNES controller for the Switch will come out and be sold directly through Nintendo, and that SNES games will come to the subscription in the future as well.
