FCC documents point to new Microsoft Surface mouse and keyboard
Microsoft has provided documents to the FCC pointing to the arrival of a new mouse and keyboard in the Surface line. It is not known whether this is an update or completely new devices. Microsoft may announce the two Bluetooth devices on October 2.
Of the two devices, the clearest image comes with the mouse. This mouse is most similar to the Microsoft Surface Mouse Bluetooth; it may therefore be a new version of this mouse. Biggest changes from the existing mouse are two gliding pads on the top and bottom of the mouse, instead of one gliding pad that circles near the side of the mouse. According to the drawing, the sensor is no longer centrally located in the mouse, but has been moved to the left when viewed from below. The Bluetooth pairing button has also been moved to the bottom. According to one of the accompanying documents, the mouse has a removable battery.
The image of the wireless keyboard gives away a lot less detail. The shape of the image suggests that this is a new version of the Microsoft Surface Keyboard. The new product has a removable battery in the top left corner of the keyboard. The Surface Keyboard, seen from above, has a removable battery in the same place.
In addition to the two images, Microsoft has also provided two test reports to the FCC. It is unknown when the two products will be released on the market. Microsoft has a Surface event on October 2, usually the tech giant announces new hardware at such events.
