Fatshark features gameplay co-op game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
Swedish Fatshark, developer of the Vermintide games, among others, has unveiled the first gameplay images of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. As in Vermintide, there is a first-person co-op with both shooting and melee weapons
However, Vermintide is set in the Warhammer fantasy universe, while Darkide makes the step up to Warhammer 40,000, which is described as a universe far in the future. That doesn’t make it entirely sci-fi though, as supernatural elements are still a part of this theme.
The game will be another four-player co-op game, according to the developer, with different characters with different playstyles to choose from. Players take on hordes of enemies, who, for the time being, seem to consist only of members of the Chaos faction. However, Vermintide 2 also has the Skaven and the Beastmen in its repertoire in addition to that faction. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is due out sometime in 2021. The official site states that the game will be available on Xbox Series X and S and on Steam.
