Ubisoft has announced through four teasers that Far Cry 5 will take place in the US state of Montana. The videos include a church, power lines, and someone being shot, meaning the game likely has a modern setting.

The short videos make it clear that Far Cry 5 is set in Hope County, a fictional region of the state of Montana. The teasers show grasslands, mountains, croplands and a swirling river, including someone who is shot while fleeing. It also shows how someone’s head is rammed against a church bell.

Far Cry 5 may become a modern western, something that has already been discussed became speculated based on Montana’s location. On Friday, Ubisoft will announce all the details about Far Cry 5.

A week ago, Ubisoft announced which new games will be released in this fiscal year. That turned out to be Far Cry 5, The Crew 2, a new Assassin’s Creed game and the previously delayed South Park: The Fractured but Whole. No further details were disclosed at the time of that announcement.
