Fantasy RPG Avowed from Obsidian may be released on November 12
Avowed, the fantasy RPG from Obsidian, may be playable from November 12. That date was mentioned in a blog post, but has since been removed. A trailer for the game was shown on Sunday during the Xbox Games Showcase, but there was no concrete release date.
Obsidian Entertainment may have accidentally revealed Avowed's release date, reports The Verge's Tom Warren. On the website from the developer, game director Carrie Patel wrote: “We've been busy getting Avowed ready for release on November 12, 2024.” That sentence has now been removed from the blog. The message only states that the game will be released in 2024. No specific release date was shared during the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday evening, although it had been known for several months that the game would be released in the fall of this year.
Avowed is set in the universe of the Pillars of Eternity games and should be released for the Xbox Series X/S and PC. According to the developer, the choices players make are important for the progression of the story. Different dialogue choices therefore have different outcomes. Earlier this year, Obsidian already released gameplay images of the upcoming fantasy RPG. In addition to Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian is known for Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds.
