A fan recreated the Raid playing field from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in great detail for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. For that, he used the official Valve Hammer Editor, better known as Hammer.

He says he spent roughly 120 hours recreating Raid in Hammer. The fan reports that it was a tedious and difficult job, but in the end found it a nice experience, because he learned a lot of things. He started this project because he wanted to play this Call of Duty map in CS:GO and because no one else has made this map for Valve’s shooter game yet.

On the face of it, the maker has at least spent the 120 hours well; the recreated playing field is easily recognizable as the Raid map and quite a few details from the original have been used. Elements such as vegetation and the colors used are not always exactly the same, but every part of the playing field is very recognizable, including the courtyard and elements such as the pool and hot tub.

The map can be downloaded and tried from the Steam WorkShop. The fan indicates that the playing field is not quite ready; there are still bugs in it and some things still need to be optimized. This is also apparent from a number of comments from users who have already tried the folder.

Raid is considered one of the most popular playing fields in the Call of Duty series. The map was originally in Black Ops 2, but also appeared in Black Ops 3 and is also partly in Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode. Since the fan’s Raid creation is more or less a copy of a game from another publisher, it is unlikely that his creation will ever become an official part of CS:GO.
