Fans of the Uncharted game series for the PlayStation have been waiting for an official Uncharted movie for years. To ease the wait, a fan has already made their own short Uncharted film with Nathan Fillion in the lead role, the actor who is known from the Firefly series, among other things.

In Allan Ungar’s nearly fifteen-minute film, Nathan Fillion takes on the role of protagonist Nathan Drake, the protagonist of the Uncharted games, who was missing from the Uncharted 4 expansion The Lost Legacy. Fillion had previously indicated that he would like to play the role of Drake in an Uncharted film. Drake’s mentor Victor Sullivan is played by Stephen Lang, the actor best known for his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch from Avatar.

As early as 2009, Columbia Pictures announced that it was working on a movie for the PlayStation 3 game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, with Kyle Ward responsible for the story. The game revolves around adventurer Nathan Drake, who uses notes from explorer Sir Francis Drake to search for El Dorado, only to be thwarted by rival treasure hunters along the way. This official film has been postponed several times and it is unclear when the film can actually be admired in the cinemas.
