Fallout 76 will not include crossplay support
Fallout 76 will not support crossplay on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Peter Hines, the developer’s head of marketing, says there are several reasons why Fallout 76 isn’t getting this.
Hines doesn’t explain on Twitter though what are the reasons for the lack of crossplay support in Fallout 76. He reports that he has no idea if Fallout 76 will ever support crossplay and that this is not on the radar right now, as the release is already on November 14.
After Sony announced on Monday to allow crossplay at Fortnite, players started to wonder whether that will also be implemented in Fallout 76. Previously, Bethesda game director Todd Howard said his studio wanted Fallout 76 to get crossplay, but he said Sony was “not as helpful as hoped.”
Whether crossplay will be supported for the card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends is not yet clear. The studio said in August that crossplay support for the upcoming console version of this card game is “non-negotiable.” The publisher wants the progress in this game to be saved universally, independent of the platform. However, Hines did not want to say what steps Bethesda would take if Sony does not cooperate with crossplay.
