Publisher Bethesda has announced that Fallout 4 on the PS4 will receive mod support after all. The feature will be added after the release of the Skyrim remaster, which comes out on October 28. Both games will receive support for the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Bethesda announced early this year that the PS4 version of Fallout 4 would receive mods support in June, but it never got beyond a closed beta test. In September, the publisher reported that the mod support would no longer be available at all, because Sony did not allow the feature in the way as proposed.

Now Bethesda reports that the PS4 version of Fallout 4 will receive mod support after all. The publisher doesn’t say when the feature will be available, but at least it will be after the release of the Skyrim remaster. With that game, the mod function will be available immediately. This was previously announced when the game was announced.

Both in Skyrim and in Fallout 4, PlayStation players will soon be able to make mods with Bethesda’s Creation Kit. It will be possible to modify or create content from the game, but mod makers will not be able to upload external assets from their PS4.

Both games will receive support for the PlayStation 4 Pro. With the Skyrim remaster, it is already baked into the release version that comes out on October 28. On the faster console, which will be on sale from November 10, the game can run in 4k resolution. Sony has released a number of screenshots that should show the graphic qualities. At a later date, Fallout 4 will get a patch with PS4 Pro support. Bethesda also wants to add 4k support to that game, but also better lighting effects. It is not yet clear when the update will be released.
