Fairphone has started selling replacement earbuds for its set of wireless earbuds. Customers can purchase a single earbud in the event that only the left or right earbud is broken or lost.

Delivery of the replacement left or right earbuds will begin this week, says Fairphone. As a result, the price is now also known for the first time. Fairphone asks 45 euros for a replacement earplug. A new set with two earplugs and charging case costs 99 euros.

A single new earplug only comes with a medium-sized silicone cap. If users want a different size, they have to buy a set of new silicone caps for 5 euros. It is possible to mix colors. The earplugs come in black, gray and green.

The sale of a few earbuds fits in with Fairphone’s strategy to deal more sustainably with the wireless earbuds. Unlike the manufacturer’s phones, the earbuds are not repairable. That was not possible according to the manufacturer. Fairphone wants to follow the same path as with its phones, where the first version was also difficult to repair. Apple has offered replacement left or right earbuds for its AirPods for years.
